This week, after a brief hiatus, the Tompkins County Green Party has rejoined the world of online Green activism in New York State with a new web site.

Jennifer Dotson will be running for re-election to the Ithaca Common Council in the First Ward. Allen Carstensen will be running for Supervisor of the Town of Ulysses, which includes the village of Trumansburg.

In terms of voter registration, Greens in Tompkins County number far fewer than Tompkins County Democrats, but the Tompkins County Greens seem to have a greater grassroots organizing power relative to their numbers.

The Tompkins County Green Party will meet next Tuesday, June 21, at 7:00 PM in Stewart Park in Ithaca, just outside the large pavilion next to Cayuga Lake. All Tompkins County residents who are registered with the Green Party are urged to attend, as new officers will be elected and a new slate of local candidates will be discussed.
