Tompkins County Green Party Runs Two Candidates in 2009
The Tompkins County Green Party had a successful meeting this week, with enough registered Green voters to form a quorum, plus a couple of Democrats interested in the Green Party message. Four members were selected for the State Green Party Committee, and will be petitioning voters in the county in the coming weeks in order to formally qualify for those positions.
Those incoming State committee members will also be petitioning for two candidates running on a Green Party line in this year’s local elections. Jennifer Dotson will be running for re-election to the Ithaca Common Council in the First Ward. Allen Carstensen will be running for Supervisor of the Town of Ulysses, which includes the village of Trumansburg.
New officers were elected, and strategy discussed, and events outlined. It’s an energetic group, and soon to come will be a fresh web site for the Tompkins County Green Party. We’ll cover that here when it comes…
