One of the first things that needs to be done to organize the Green Party effectively in New York State is to get county Green Party groups online.

This week, after a brief hiatus, the Tompkins County Green Party has rejoined the world of online Green activism in New York State with a new web site.

The New Paltz Greens are back online, just in time to note that the Green Party has supported the efforts of the Coalition of Concerned Citizens of New Paltz by helping to promote and participating in their demonstration today in favor of meaningful single payer health care reform

In terms of voter registration, Greens in Tompkins County number far fewer than Tompkins County Democrats, but the Tompkins County Greens seem to have a greater grassroots organizing power relative to their numbers.

The New Paltz Green Party web site has been attacked by a malware site – a growing problem online. As they seek to recover from this attack, need our understanding and patience.

If we don’t like how the mainstream media works, then we need to create our own media, and provide the kind of coverage of Green Party events that we’d like to see in our local Upstate newspapers.

Those of us in Upstate New York are separated by physical distance that can be transcended through an online connection. The Green Change Green Party of New York State group seems like a perfect match for our needs.
